Biscuits ( Okara Bran ) Recipe

 


3/4 c Flour
1/4 c Whole bran cereal
1/4 c Wheat germ
1 1/2 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Baking soda
1/2 ts Salt
1/2 ts Cinnamon
1/2 c Moist okara, loosely packed
2 tb Honey
1/2 c Vegetable oil
2 tb Yogurt; or dairy sour cream
- up to 4 tbs
1/3 c Raisins; or dried apricots
- chopped

Combine flour, bran, wheat germ, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and
cinnamon in medium-size bowl. Work in the okara with fork.

Stir in honey and oil. Add enough yogurt to make a moist dough; stir
in raisins.

Drop by tablespoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheet.

Bake in a moderate (350 F) oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
